D Scott Williams
From salt-tinged surf-beat to the plaintive country fried strains of Hank and Patsy, to melancholic Coltrane, this surf rat turned plainsman brings another long buffet of influences to the sonic feast. The seventies and eighties were a time of blending these influences with folk and bluegrass to form something of a “style”. “So many cool instruments and sounds and so little time” is a quote worth note from this shade of grey. Guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass are“frequent criers” in the hands of this jack of all strings. His songwriting usually comes from places in the heart and soul that most of us don’t visit often. Canvas
The up and coming band Canvas came together a year ago when the two female lead singers whimsically said to each other in passing, "hey, let's jam!"  The two had been song writing since the mid '90s independently.  During their initial jam session, both knew they had something special.   They've been writing and performing thoughtful, upbeat, funky, so fun to listen to music ever since.  Their creative combination of  a bluesy vocal style that interweaves down to earth melodies and harmonies with the acoustic guitars gives Canvas a unique sound that audiences just want to hear more and more of.

Luke Maurer
Acoustic guitar soloist, Luke, age 18, is an Ogden Valley resident from Liberty and graduate of Weber High School, Class of 2007. He first picked up his father's guitar at the age of 12, and proceeded to teach himself without any formal instruction. He progressed quickly through use of computer software and the Internet, and now enjoys performing intricate solo pieces from a variety of genres. His favorite artist is Australian born "Tommy Emmanuel", one of the most gifted and innovative guitar players in the world. Seeing Tommy perform live in Salt Lake and personally meeting him after the show was a great incentive for Luke. He is inspired by Tommy's unique "finger-style" abilities - akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, with all ten fingers - a complex combination of fingerpick patterns and rhythms, flatpick runs and strums, harmonics, and percussion. Luke thrives on challenging material that motivates him to play the instrument. Many of the tunes he performs are T.E. arrangements, embellished with his own unique licks and dynamics. He has a great passion and appreciation for acoustic guitar and the music it makes, and hopes to convey this to those who hear him play. Luke also offers his services for private lessons and personal gigs. Contact: lukesmaurer@hotmail.com, 801-745-6219.

McCall Erickson
McCall Erickson is a Wyoming native, nursed on the wide-open sky and Big Horn mountains, she found a second home in the Wasatch Front while attending Weber State. Among her arsenal of musical instruments she includes the violin and piano, but is most often seen strumming her guitar in the twilight hours above a sea of adoring fans, or teaching in her downtown studio. Altogether an entertainer, her performing tactic is to engage the audience, often roping them into question and answer sessions and sing-a-longs. A lover of collage in the visual arts, McCall's musical stylings are a blended homage to her great influences—Mary Chapin Carpenter, EmmyLou Harris, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell and other folk greats--infused with her views on life as one big poetic journey.

Nathan Fox
For San Diego native Nathan Fox, the water has become a big part of his life.  Its rhythm can be felt in the rolling surge of his pop, blues, reggae, rock, mellow acoustic vibe.  The stories told from travels around the country with bands (2001-2003, 2005), school in Boston (2004, 2006-07), family, and a more than occasional bout with love are clever and poetic.  His earthy groove is textured colorfully by catchy melodies and the raw soul of his voice.
