(It's an early morning sport.) Balloons do not fly in the middle of the day because the wind picks up, but there are plenty of activities for your family to enjoy all day long!

BONNEVILLE CYCLING CLUB TO HOST OGDEN VALLEY RIDE DURING BALLOON FEST – “BIKES AND BALLOONS”

(Eden, UT)  Gladys Mundelius, member of the Bonneville Cycling Club, is hosting this Sunday’s ride in conjunction with the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival on Sunday, August 17, 2008. 

Riders are encouraged to get up to the Ogden Valley early to catch the balloon launch at 7 a.m. at the Festival Field at Wolf Creek Utah and then with balloons overhead, ride  startign at 8 a.m. around Pineview Reservoir out to Huntsville, returning through Eden & Liberty.  Add-on options are to climb Old Snowbasin Rd to resort and descend Trappers loop; a 2nd option to climb from Liberty to Durfee. Course options 30/45/55 miles.  End of ride stay to enjoy the FOOD, arts, crafts & music of the festival (free).  Come early if you want to watch balloons launch (7-7:30 am).  Start location: Wolf Mountain Ski Area, 3567 Nordic Valley Way, Eden; follow signs to Eden/Wolf Creek, Eden.  At 4-way stop (Maverick)go north on SR 162 follow signs to Wolf Mtn; park across the street from the resort parking lot; map link: www.wolfmountaineden.com.
